We've created both a video and written instructions below depending on your preference, feel free to follow either of them!
In order to buy or sell any coin you first need to navigate to a trading pair page for that particular asset. Coins can have multiple trading pairs. For example, BXY can be traded against BTC as well as USDC. These markets are represented by the trading pairs BTC-BXY and USDC-BXY.
There are three ways you can navigate to a trading pair page:
- Select a pair from the Market page
- Select a pair from the Market quick view button, found in the menu bar
- Select a pair from the custom ticker at the top of the screen
1. Market Page
Trading Pairs can be found on the Market page that is displayed when you log in. The search field is in the top right corner of the panel. You can search for ticker symbols or full names of currencies.
2. Market Quick View
You can also click the Market button found in the menu bar for a quick view of all trading pairs available on Beaxy. Trading pairs are searchable from this panel and it may be accessed from any page.
3. Custom Ticker
Additionally, you may access trading pair pages from the ticker at the top of the screen. Click the star next to any trading pair to favorite it and add it to your ticker. Clicking on a pair within the ticker will also bring you to the trading pair page.
Once you are at the desired trading pair page, you will see the order form in the upper left corner. In the example below, the trading pair is BTC-BXY. Beaxy supports multiple wallets per currency, so on Beaxy's order forms you will see a unique drop down button to the left of each field that allows you to select the wallet for both the buy and sell side of the order.
Tip: If you would like to create a new wallet, you may do so directly from the order form. More details can be found here.
First, select the order type you wish to use from the drop down at the top of the form. For more details on order types you can find a comprehensive list here.
Next, enter the amount you wish to buy/sell in the first text field. You can use the drop down button to the left of the field as a shortcut to auto-calculate and input an amount based on the wallet selected and the percentage you choose.
For example, if you select 100% in a buy order form it will display the amount you may
buy at the selected price if you were to use 100% of the funds in the selected wallet.
In the next field, enter the price that you wish to pay per unit. The drop down button to the left of this field can be used to select live pricing information from the order book.
The Ask price is the lowest priced sell order that is currently available.
The Bid price is the highest priced buy order that is currently available.
The Last price represents the price at which the last trade occurred.
For detailed information on the Market Trading Rules, check this article.
Click the small drop down arrow next to the Total at the bottom of the order form to view any fees that may be applied to the order. Find out more information on Beaxy's Fee Structure here.
If you choose to pay fees with BXY, you will see a small Beaxy logo next to the fee rate. Click here to learn how you can pay your fees using BXY and pay exchange fees at a 50% reduced rate.
After filling out the form and clicking Buy or Sell, you will see a confirmation panel that will let you review the order once more before submitting it. You may check the box to prevent the confirmation window from reappearing, but we strongly recommend against doing this for security reasons. If you disable it and wish to turn it back on, you can find the instructions here.
You can then find your order on your Open Orders page.
